Time To Export

August 18, 2016

It's a good time to plan your EU export strategy The Post-Brexit the export world has become even more uncertain for UK businesses.

We don’t know what the future will bring but as business owners and managers we are all used to coping with uncertainty – it’s part of our day job. Now is a good time to develop an EU export strategy whilst there are no barriers. There’s an opportunity to win business and develop partnerships which can withstand whatever the politicians negotiate for us.

We have been very successful in exporting to Germany with almost 50% of our turnover now earned in Euros. We have identified a niche service for German transport companies. Germany is the largest economy in Europe and the fourth largest in the world. It is also among the largest exporters and importers of goods in the world. It’s an easy market to access – cheap flights and widespread use of English make it easy to visit customers. It can take time to build the relationship but once it is established German customers are very loyal.

Open to Export is an online community backed by government helping UK businesses to sell overseas. It’s a useful source of free and (mostly) impartial information for anyone wanting to grow through exporting. They have published a basic but useful guide to doing business in Germany http://opentoexport.com/article/guide-to-doing-business-in-germany/?utm_source=Open+to+Export+%28Master%29&utm_campaign=2c9e90ccd5-August_Newsletter8_9_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b283505a55-2c9e90ccd5-95801833
